Cabrini Hospital Opens Community Clinic

A community clinic across the street from Cabrini Hospital will be one option for the uninsured once Huey Long Hospital shuts down.

Cabrini hosted a walk-through of the facility today to show off what the Incarnate Word Community Clinic will offer.

Cabrini and Rapides Regional have both agreed to open these clinics to serve the uninsured, under-insured and the poor.

The historic Huey Long facility is being shuttered by the state as Governor Bobby Jindal decided to take Louisiana out of the hospital business.  These clinics are designed to fill the gap.

The clinic is named for the order of nuns who have always staffed Cabrini Hospital and made their life’s mission to heal the sick.  The clinic opens to the public on Monday.
