Bunkie Teen Charged with Rape of a Juvenile

Avoyelles deputies arrested 18-year-old Jared Ducote Thursday. They say he’s also accused of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Investigators say they believe the incident happened at a weekend party in the 200 block of Sewell Street, and they believe alcohol was involved.

According to Sheriff Doug Anderson, Jared Ducote was arrested on an Avoyelles Parish Warrant of Arrest charging him with Simple Rape and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

Sheriff Anderson stated his deputies began the investigation after a complaint was filed with his office relating to Ducote allegedly having sexual relations with a female under the age of 14.

Investigators believe that the alleged offense occurred during a party over the weekend at a Bunkie residence and that alcohol was involved. Thursday afternoon, investigators executed a Search Warrant in the 200 block of Sewell Blvd. and seized items believed to be evidence to the investigation.

Later the same evening, Ducote was arrested by warrant charging him with Simple Rape and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. Jared Ducote was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office DC #1. His bond is currently set at 0,000.
