The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), advises the public that on Monday October 24th 2016 construction will begin on the Rock Hill Road bridge in Grant Parish.
The intent of this project is to replace the existing Rock Hill Road Bridge with an 80’ – 4 span concrete bridge to replace the metal tank car pipes on Rock Hill Road. Associated work includes erosion control, laying hotmix on roadway approaching the bridge, seeding and fertilizer, and clearing and grubbing.
The contractor will be closing the Rock Hill Road Site on Monday October 24th and begin process of removing the existing drainage structures. The public is advised to remain alert to construction signs and changing roadway conditions.
The project was awarded to the low bidder, W. E. McDonald & Sons, LLC, in the amount of $711,278.20. The work associated with this project should take approximately 110 working days to complete.
Rock Hill Road is a non-state, off-system route and will be closed for the duration of the construction at this site.
