BBQ Cook-Off, Classic Car Show & Shopping Extravaganza

The 7th annual Cruisin’ Southern Style Classic Car Show, hosted by Southern Style Cruisers will take place in conjunction with the annual Tunica-Biloxi Indian Political Action Committee (TBIPAC) BBQ Throwdown at the RV lodge. In the Mari Showroom, the 8th annual Marksville Chamber of Commerce Christmas Extravaganza will be taking place for anyone interested in getting ahead of the holiday shopping crowds this season.
The Cruisin’ Southern Style Car Show is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The annual car show gives car aficionados the opportunity to show off their rides. Participants can register their vehicles on Friday, November 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for $30 or on Saturday, November 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for $35. A swap meet for those interested in selling car parts will take place. For $100, vendors can secure a location. All proceeds from the car show will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The annual TBIPAC BBQ Throwdown features the best barbecue from around Central Louisiana. Contestants compete in three categories: pork spare ribs, brisket and chicken for a $150 entry fee. Lagniappe categories with a $25 entry fee include: Margaritas, Sauce, Soup/Gumbo, Dessert and Kids Que. Winners receive cash prizes. Spectators can enjoy tasty barbecue plates served from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. for $7. There will also be craft and food (jelly, canned vegetables, etc) vendors set up by the RV Resort volleyball courts selling products. Vendor fee is $50. Also on November 23, the 8th annual Marksville Chamber of Commerce Christmas Extravaganza will offer great holiday shopping from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Mari Showroom. With a $2 admission fee, shoppers can get a head-start on holiday gift-buying. Approximately 80 vendors will offer a variety of merchandise, including home-baked goods, candles, purses, jewelry, LSU/Saints items, arts and crafts and holiday decor. Also, shoppers will have a chance to win special giveaways every 30 minutes.
