One of the major attractions at the Rapides Parish Fair seems normal to folks on the farm, but if you’re a city kid, not so much. It’s called the Barnyard Nursery and you’ll see ducks, and geese and calves. Children who attend the fair get a chance to see some of the animals they’d never see in their own backyards.
The Barnyard Nursery is open throughout the run of the fair, from 9 to 10 at night, except Sunday when the hours are 10 to 4.
There are real farmers on hand to explain to children what the animals eat, how they’re raised and how they like to play.
