Rannah Gray’s book “Familiar Evil” has been named the 2016 True Crime book by a publisher’s group. The personality at the heart of the book, Scott Rogers, died in a murder-suicide with one of his victims just as he was to be indicted by a grand jury.
She wrote the work with investigative help from Mary Jane Marcantel, who is from Alexandria. Also assisting with the book was Luke Walker, an attorney whose grandfather was Morgan Walker of Alexandria.
Gray spoke Tuesday night and signed her book at Westside Library.
