Voters to Decide on Recreation Tax This Saturday

Voters will decide the future of recreation in Alexandria when they head to the polls this Saturday.  There’s a property tax proposal on the ballot for programming and for the Alexandria Zoo.

The property tax will, in effect, replace one that is being retired.  That tax paid for the public safety complex.

Body Discovered Near Airbase Road

A body is discovered early this morning just off Airbase Road.
The body was found around 6:30 at the corner of Cappel Road and First Street.  It’s a residential area and backs up to the Union Tank Car plant.

LC Holds Press Conference to Discuss Athletics

Louisiana College officials held a news conference today to talk about the school’s athletic program.
LC is now under the leadership of Doctor Argile Smith.  He will be resident pro-tem while a search committee finds a successor to Joe Aguillard.

The school has a variety of athletic programs, including football.
