McAllister Defeats Presumed Favorite Riser in Run-Off

A 39-year-old college dropout and self-made millionaire is the congressman elect for the 5th congressional district.  Vance McAllister defeated Neil Riser Saturday by a 60 to 40 vote and Riser was the presumed favorite.

Witness Found in Hineston Bank Robbery

Rapides Deputies find a witness in connection to last week’s bank robbery in Hineston.  The Sabine State Bank was held up, but nobody was harmed.

Authorities have not said if there is a connection between the Hineston case and today’s robbery at Chase Bank.
