State Treasurer John Kennedy is on the attack against NGOs, non-governmental organizations, that are on the public dole.  Some of them, he says, are not accountable for tax dollars.

Colfax Police Chief Arrested for Theft


The Police Chief in Colfax is arrested for theft.  He’s 43-year-old Charles Stickell of Colfax.  Grant Sheriff’s Deputies say they acted on a complaint and an investigation.
This is an appointed position.  So, it will be up to the Mayor and council to decide if Stickell remains on the job until the legal matter is finished.

Ferriday Man Receives Life for Dealing Meth


One man receives a life sentence and another gets almost 23 years for dealing in meth.  Maurice Smith (left) received life, and Chavo Thomas (right) got 22 years and 9 months.  Both are from Ferriday.
