Fort Polk says farewell to Tiger Land’s 162nd Infantry Brigade Commander. Colonel Matthew McKenna is giving up command after two years as head of the Tiger Brigade. McKenna led the training of about seven thousand military men and women as they trained for service in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A teenager is now charged with murder in a shooting yesterday.
Alexandria police arrested 17-year-old Isaiah Anthony of Alexandria for the shooting death of 28-year-old Demarcus Green, also of Alexandria. Police say the two had a fight which led to the shooting yesterday afternoon. Green later died at the hospital.

A second hostage in this week’s bank standoff here in Louisiana has died here in Alexandria at Rapides Regional Medical Center. LeDean McDaniel passed away this morning at a hospital. He was one of three bank employees taken hostage by Fuaed Ahmed in the rural town of Saint Joseph Tuesday.
