Body Discovered Near Airbase Road

A body is discovered early this morning just off Airbase Road.
The body was found around 6:30 at the corner of Cappel Road and First Street.  It’s a residential area and backs up to the Union Tank Car plant.
Witnesses say the man was found lying in the fetal position next to the road.

LC Holds Press Conference to Discuss Athletics

Louisiana College officials held a news conference today to talk about the school’s athletic program.
LC is now under the leadership of Doctor Argile Smith.  He will be resident pro-tem while a search committee finds a successor to Joe Aguillard.

The school has a variety of athletic programs, including football.

A 33-year-old woman from Otis is arrested for battery of a child.  Rebecca Marie Carlock was arrested April 13th for a March incident involving a dispute over a cell phone between her and the child.

Former Coliseum Manager Arrested

The former manager of the Rapides Coliseum is arrested for financial and legal improprieties.
She’s 37-year-old Kimberly Ellen Neal Townley of Pineville.
She faces a series of charges, including: theft, false accounting and filing false public records. The arrest follows a complaint filed by the parish police jury and a critical report from the Louisiana Legislative Auditor.
