North Bayou Rapides Elementary is chosen for a Harvest of the Month program. It’s one of three schools in the state to participate in the program, which is sponsored by the LSU Ag Center. It’ll receive farm-fresh fruits and vegetables one day each month.

State Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says some Louisianans are receiving threatening phone calls that are scams. The callers say they’re from the IRS and demand immediate payment.
The IRS does not contact people by phone. Officials say just hang up, and never give the caller any personal information.
