Mid-Century Architecture Included in NSU Historic District

Officials from Louisiana’s Division of Historic Preservation, administrators and local preservationists witnessed the presentation of an official listings certificate that designates portions of Northwestern State University included in the expanded Northwestern State University Historic District. NSU To Review 9-Person List for New President

Economic Dev. Authority Hands Out Grants

The Economic Development Authority fueled by hotel taxes is handing out more than seven thousand dollars in hospitality grants.
One will go to entertain the crew of the nuclear sub USS Alexandria, which will visit next month. The other is for a state welcome center blitz, also next month.

Jury Selection Continues as Prosecution Plans to Ask for Death Penalty

Jury selection is in its second day for 57-year-old Thomas Sanders. The procedure is slow, because the prosecution is asking for the death penalty if Sanders is convicted of killing 12-year-old Lexis Roberts.
Her body was found by hunters in Catahoula Parish 4 years ago. She had been shot and her throat had been slashed.
