Hundreds of people attended the annual Race for the Cure in Downtown Alexandria.
Some walked or ran while others cheered them on. They raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in the fight against breast cancer.
Volunteers say they’re motivated by friends and family, some of who are survivors for many who lost their battles.

Fifth Graders Participate in Forest Awareness Week

Some 700 fifth graders from Rapides Parish have been spending all week in the woods. It’s Forest Awareness Week, sponsored by the Louisiana Forestry Association and others.
The children go into the forests to learn about the number one crop in Central Louisiana. They also learn how scientists are trying to help tree farmers.
