Rapides Librarian Rogge To Retire

Rapides Parish librarian Steve Rogge is in his final days at his office before retirement. We asked him his plans for the future.

He will be succeeded by Laura Ellen Ayres, who has been on his staff.

Police say they finally stopped Tori Wesley in the Hillcrest Drive and Hillcrest Boulevard area. They say he then ran off and they found him hiding under a shed.

Rapides Deputies arrest two teens after a disturbance in the gravel pits off the Lonzie Doyle and Padgett roads areas of Plainview.

Rapides Deputies say they’ve solved a series of burglaries.
Jesse Warren and Jada McGinty, both of Alexandria were arrested for breaking into storage buildings on Highway 28 East. Deputies say they linked the 2 suspects to stolen property found in Grant Parish.
Warren is accused of burglary, possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and a drug charge. [...]

BARK Holds Jambalaya Plate Fundraiser

Dog lovers are at it again. They sold plates of jambalaya today to help the rescue efforts of Boudreaux’s Animal Rescue Krewe better known as BARK. BARK operates a no-kill shelter and is dedicated to finding good homes for all the pets.

Summer Camps Begin for Lagniappe Theatre

Summer camps are underway at the Lagniappe Theatre.
These children are in the Showstoppers Camp. They’re learning acting skills and they’ll produce a performance at the end of the week.
The older campers will start next week with the Broadway Dance Camp.
Lagniappe is also in rehearsal for its July performance of The Odd Couple.
