Duck Hunting Stamp Available August 1st

State duck hunters can purchase a new federal stamp online starting August 1st.
Louisiana is added to several other states where the federal e-stamp is an option to hunters.

Over $157 Million in Projects to Be Spent in CenLA

More than 157 million dollars in projects are now headed to Central Louisiana.
The biggest portion will be spent in Rapides and Natchitoches Parishes. These range from roads to colleges and universities to privatizing Huey Long Hospital. Some represent new buildings though most will go for operation and maintenance of existing facilities.

2 Juveniles Arrested for Break-In

Alexandria police arrest two juveniles for burglary in the Garden District. The two were taken into custody yesterday afternoon after a reported break-in in the 2 thousand block of Marye Street.
Nobody was hurt. Police say a neighbor spotted the suspects.

Farmers Look Forward to Profitable Harvest This Fall

Additional Arrest Made in Break-In Case

Another arrest is made by Rapides deputies in connection with a late June break-in while a family was on vacation. Jessica Galloway of Alexandria is accused of theft and a firearm offense.
The burglary happened on June 29th in Boyce, and one other arrest has been made. Deputies say more arrests are expected.

A Grant Parish man is accused of stalking and entering a Pineville home while people were out of town. Deputies say Jeffery Chelette of Colfax was found Monday in the backyard of the home after a house sitter noticed someone had been there. The homeowner says it’s a recurring problem.
