Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of 2 Women


On July 23, 2014, the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested two females on drug charges after a traffic stop north of Pollock.

Alexandria police need your help catching thieves who are taking tires and wheels, mainly from newer model GM trucks and SUVs.

Call crime stoppers at 443-STOP or police at 441-6416. Rewards of up to 25 hundred dollars are given for tips that lead to arrests and convictions.

Thieves Raid Closed Istrouma High School of Football Equipment

Well-known throughout Louisiana as a football powerhouse, Istrouma High in north Baton Rouge is shuttered at least for a year. WBRZ cameras there caught vandals taking the once-proud facility apart.

Alexandria Councilwoman Announces Run for Mayor


Mayor Jacques Roy is drawing a second opponent, this one from the city council. District Two Councilwoman, Mitzi LaSalle announced her candidacy tonight in Alexandria City Park.
She’s vice president of business development for Keller Enterprise and is in her first term on the council.

State Judges Hopeful for Constitutional Change

House Fire Leaves One Dead


A deadly fire early yesterday in Alexandria is under investigation. It broke out around five o’clock yesterday morning at 1611 McEnery Street.

12 Year Old Named Grand Fiddle Champion

Winners in the Louisiana State Fiddle Championship held during the Natchitoches-NSU Folk Festival were, from left, Carson Taylor, first;  Hal Mayfield, second place, and Ron Pace, third place.

Pineville Man Dies in Crash

A Pineville man dies after a single vehicle accident in Rapides Parish early this morning.
41-year-old Todd Fogleman lost control of his pick-up shortly after one on Highway One. Then, he hit a driveway embankment and flipped.
Troopers say he was not wearing his seat belt.
