Single-Vehicle Crash Kills Opelousas Man

A single-vehicle crash kills an Opelousas man this morning on the Interstate 49 frontage road near Kennerson Road in Saint Landry Parish. Troopers say 32-year-old Corey Doucet lost control on a curve and hit a ditch before flipping.
He was not wearing a seat belt.

Man Receives 5 Years in Federal Prison for Drug Distribution

A Natchitoches man is sentenced to five years in federal prison for his part in a drug distribution operation. Michael Casson pleaded guilty to trafficking cocaine and meth in several parishes, including Natchitoches and Vernon.
