Atwood’s Celebrates International Bacon Day

There’s an old joke that bacon makes anything taste better. Well, that’s the theme this week at Atwood’s Bakery, leading up to International Bacon Day on Saturday.

Man Receives More Charges, Totaling Bonds to Over $1 Million

More charges are added for a man already accused of inappropriate sexual behavior with a child, as well as drug possession.
56-year-old Joseph Glen Desoto of Pineville is charged with additional counts of inappropriate behavior and including sexual battery, indecent behavior, obstruction of justice, intimidating a witness gun possession.

Triple A expects the largest group of travelers on the road since the recession. That means more than 34 million Americans will be on the move, traveling 50 miles or more. That’s the largest amount since 2008.

A Natchitoches Parish student dies following a school fight.  Police say 18-year-old Johnquaries Smith was beaten at Natchitoches Central High School and flown to University Health, where he passed away yesterday.
