Genealogy Museum Hosts Day Camp

A day camp is underway at the local genealogy museum. These day campers are learning about the past, specifically their own ancestors.
The group that runs the museum sponsors this event each summer. Members teach students how to trace their histories as far back as records will take them.

Pineville City and Ward Marshal Larry Jeane has died. He was 68 years old.

Homeless Man Arrested for Burglary and Drug Paraphernalia

Alexandria police arrest a homeless man for burglary and drug paraphernalia. 51-year-old Michael Harbor was reportedly seen on North Boulevard with a weed eater that was taken from a pick-up.
Police say he’s had 46 bookings in the Rapides Parish system and was out on bond when he was arrested.

Former Fort Polk Soldier Arrested for Sexual Abuse of Child

A former soldier from Fort Polk is sentenced to 17 and a half years in prison for sexually abusing a child. Emil Rath of Arkansas admitted he had sexual contact with a child younger than nine on the military base in November of 2003.

Pineville Man Arrested for Raping a Child

Rapides deputies arrest a 34-year-old Pineville man for aggravated rape of a child. 34-year-old Teddy Carlton of Pineville is accused of assaulting the daughter in a home he was visiting.
The report was made last Sunday, and he was arrested Wednesday.

Local Prostitution Sting Results in 13 Arrests
