US Census Data Shows LA Incomes Rising Slowly

U.S. census data shows more of us in Louisiana are working, but household incomes are rising at a slow but steady pace. Other figures show broad disparities in income along racial lines.
And Louisiana is still the 3rd highest in poverty in the nation and 4th on the list for poor children.

Electricians Still Working to Repair Courthouse Electricity

Electricians are working through the weekend to repair a malfunction that darkened the Federal Courthouse in Alexandria and interrupted the penalty phase for Thomas Steven Sanders.
Sanders has been convicted of slaying a 12-year-old girl, and the jury must now determine if he lives or dies.
Officials hope to resume the testimony on Monday.

All week students have been celebrating the charter, which binds all Americans, celebrating its foundation and, more-importantly, learning more about it. This is a tradition at the school.

Walker Automotive Hosting Car Seat Safety Event

Saturday, parents and guardians can learn the proper installation of car seats for children. The event is at Walker Automotive on MacArthur Drive from 9 until noon.

Crashes are the leading cause of death for children between ages 1 and 13, and a properly installed safety seat can save a life.
