Students from Lafayette Spend the Week at LSUA

A group of Lafayette area students is spending a week at LSU Alexandria.  They left Lafayette earlier this week.
72 juniors and seniors will spend a week getting first-hand experience at staying on a campus, leaving home and deciding on careers.  It’s called GearUp, and the young people say it’s wonderful.

2 Men and Boy Arrested for Stealing Scrap Metal


Two men and a boy are arrested by Rapides deputies for taking scrap metal in an abandoned home in Deville.

Body Found in Red River on Fourth of July


An update on a body found in the Red River on the Fourth of July.  56-year-old Henry Bernard Wilson of Alexandria was found near the Purple Heart Bridge.
Alexandria police say there’s no sign of foul play.  Police say the incident remains under investigation, but the autopsy did not indicate a homicide.
