Drug Dealer Arrested in Marksville


Avoyelles Deputies say they’ve shut down a drug dealer in Marksville.  Deputies arrested 30-year-old Troy Dominick and seized drugs, cash and a firearm all late last night.  He’s charged with distribution, resisting arrest, a firearm offense, cruelty to juveniles and obstruction of justice.

Alexandria Man Arrested for Stabbing


Rapides Deputies arrest a man for a stabbing that happened last night on McKeithen Drive.  35-year-old Christopher Pearson of Alexandria was taken into custody shortly after the incident.

Chattanooga Zoo Temporarily Closes

If you visited the Chattanooga Zoo earlier this week, you’d be disappointed.  The park has temporarily closed its doors and guests are disappointed.  Mikaya Thurmond explains why.

Woman and Dog Both Beat Cancer

People say a dog is man’s best friend, but what happens when a woman and dog come together after beating a deadly disease?  Elizabeth Hill finds out.

Broussard says dogs are susceptible to the same types of cancer as humans and, like humans, the earlier the cancer is caught, the better.

Students at Energy Camp Construct Windmills

Energy Camp is now underway at NSU.
The high school students who are participating have skills in science, technology, engineering and math.  This camp is designed to teach them about energy, conservation and possibly steer them on career paths.

State Representative Changes to Republican

State Representative Jim Fannin of Jonesboro is now a Republican.  Some are speculating this is a setting him up for a run for the State Senate in two years.  Fannin has served the Governor as Chairman of the powerful Appropriations Committee.
A portion of his district includes Central Louisiana.
