APD To Conduct Drive Sober Campaign

As the last blowout of summer approaches, Alexandria Police are conducting a campaign they call “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.” They’re planning to set up checkpoints to get impaired drivers off the road.

Jury Selection Continues in Capital Murder Trial

It’s day three for jury selection in the Thomas Sanders capital murder trial.

NSU Presidential Candidate List Grows to 12

The pool of candidates for President of NSU grows from 9 to a dozen. The search firm added 3 to the list after the search committee requested a larger pool of applicants.
That committee meets tomorrow to narrow the field to a short list.

CIty Council Votes 4-3 to Pay Bill Owed to Lawyer

Mayor Jacques Roy’s attorneys are attempting to meet with Judge Dee Drell over an order to pay a bill owed to a lawyer. The City Council voted four to three last night to comply with the order.

The million dollar plus bill is owed for the city’s defense in the long-standing CLECO lawsuit.
