Homeless Grants in Cenla

More than a half-million dollars is provided for homeless programs in Central Louisiana; the grant was spearheaded by the Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition.
The Cenla Chemical Dependence Council receives more than $200,000 for its supporting house program, and a similar program at Volunteers of American receives almost $160,000.

Bunkie Man Arrested for Stealing from Crawfish Traps

Game wardens arrest a Bunkie man for reportedly fleeing from an officer and resisting arrest.
Agents say they tried to run a license check on Shannon Stevenson who was fishing more than 140 crawfish traps on Bayou Rouge near Bunkie.
Stevenson is also charged with trespassing and taking commercial fish without proper licenses.
