Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

May 27, 2013 – On 05-25-2013 Alexandria Police arrested James Morgan III, 42 of Alexandria and charged him with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.

On 05-25-2013, APD officers were dispatched to Huey P Long Hospital to investigate a reported stabbing. Upon officer’s arrival, they found a 17 year old male victim who reported he was stabbed by Morgan in the 2000 Block of Lee Street about 12:45 PM.

The victim stated he and Morgan were involved in a verbal altercation which became physical. The victim stated during this fight, Morgan pulled a knife and cut him in the neck.

APD Detectives were called out to assist, with a warrant of arrest being issued for Morgan. Morgan was arrested without incident around 9:30 PM in the 2100 Block of Hill Street and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center for Booking.

This arrest is Morgan’s 30th booking in the Rapides Parish Detention Center and he is being held without bond.
