Those who attended a crowded Rapides Parish School Board meeting heard efforts to unseat President Janet Dixon. And many say it is a racial issue.
But, last night the meeting ended with a vote, which does not challenge Dixon’s leadership. Three board members voted to seek a legal opinion on whether they could change officers four months before the regular elections, but when the final vote came, the board voted against any action.
Those supporting Dixon insisted it’s a racial issue, because she’s African American.
All school board members are up for election this fall.
