ATC Arrests Alexandria Business Owner
Baton Rouge, LA – Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) agents, with the assistance of the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested an Alexandria business owner today after discovering he was operating without a valid alcohol permit. ATC agents arrested Sam Habbas (w/m, 41 years old) the owner of Nayef Inc., dba Super Sam’s #3, located at 3912 Coliseum Blvd. in Alexandria.
Habbas has a history of violations with ATC. In 2013, Habbas was fined by ATC for not holding a valid local alcohol permit. In 2014, ATC issued him another citation and fine for operating with an expired state permit. Again, in January, Habbas was found to be operating the business without a local permit.
“It’s not fair to the good businesses in this state that are doing the right thing to allow someone to operate illegally,” said ATC Commissioner Troy Hebert.
Habbas was transported to the Rapides Parish jail and will be booked on misdemeanor charges for violating R.S.26:75 Operating without a high content alcohol permit and R.S.26:275 Operating without a low content alcohol permit.
An administrative hearing will be scheduled in reference to the violation.
