“As Young As You Feel Day” at Rapides Parish Main Library

August-September-2013-017Alexandria, sick Louisiana—Not much compares to spending time with your friends, case enjoying time well spent laughing and playing games. That’s just the environment Faith Johnson and Candace Hamilton create for their monthly As Young As You Feel Day program for senior citizens. The program occurs on the third Thursday of each month at the Rapides Parish Main Library.

This month, hospital the children’s area of Main Library was filled with tables of seniors playing BINGO, Scrabble and other games. Since Faith started the program last year, she’s had a monthly average of over 20 participants. Faith said she normally calls regular participants to remind them of the event, but one month she forgot and 17 people still showed up.
