NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Fine + Graphic Art will host an exhibition of work by Charles Jeffrey Darwin in Gallery 2 entitled “Art of Process: Character, Design and Sequential Art.” Viewing dates are June 29-July 2 with an opening reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 29.
Darwin is chair of Digital Media Design at South Louisiana Community College in Lafayette and he has built college curriculums and taught for the Lafayette Parish School System. In addition to working for Gannett Inc., he has nine years of experience teaching illustration, cartooning and digital design for Sarasota and Manatee counties in south Florida where he co-produced a weekly television program. Darwin’s freelance work includes illustration, web design and digital video editing. He has a master’s degree in international affairs, a bachelor’s degree in religion and an associate in applied science degree in graphic design. He is currently pursuing a master of arts degree in art at Northwestern State.
