Discover the fascinating artistic and technical traditions of glassmaking from ancient Egypt to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance through Tiffany, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco to Contemporary Glass. Join renowned glass expert William Warmus to explore the history of glass from its beginnings to its modern development by artists such as Louis Comfort Tiffany as well as contemporary masters such as Dale Chihuly and Stephen Knapp, whose work is currently on display at AMoA.
William Warmus was the curator of the Corning Museum of Glass, editor of Glass magazine, author of 12 books and over 100 essays, including biographies of Dale Chihuly, Louis C. Tiffany, and René Lalique, and guest lecturer at prestigious institutions such as the Smithsonian. The son of a Corning, Inc. glassblower, Warmus is an independent curator, historian, and appraiser specializing in modern glass, abstract art, and the aesthetics of the natural environment.
