Army General Advocates for Phones for Veterans
Four-star U.S. Army General Wesley Clark is touring the state to advocate for Lifeline. It’s a program that supports nearly 36-thousand veterans in Louisiana. Clark says the program offers phones to veterans to get jobs, handle emergencies, and contact their family members.
The program started under President Ronald Reagan and expanded to cell-phone use under President George W. Bush.
