Alexandria Woman Arrested for Burglary

An Alexandria woman is arrested for burglary and battery of an officer. She’s 37-year-old Shaneka Gibson who was found in a shed on the 200 block of Chester Street.

Police say the homeowner identified her as someone who had previously broken into his property.  When place under arrest, she started swinging at the officer with her fist.

Gibson was taken into custody and charged with Simple Burglary, Battery on an Officer and a Contempt of Court Warrant.

This case is still under investigation.
