Alexandria Fire Truck Hit During Car Chase

class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-47371″ src=”” alt=”Byron_roberts” width=”250″ height=”333″ />On Friday February 5th 2016, Alexandria Police Officers assisted Officers from the Natchitoches LA. Police Department and the Louisiana State Police in attempting to stop a vehicle they were in pursuit of on I-49 from the Natchitoches LA area.

The vehicle exited I-49 into Alexandria leading Officers through parts of Bolton Avenue and Down Town Alexandria where it collided with a City of Alexandria Fire Truck and another vehicle that were parked. There were no reported injuries. Following the crash, the vehicle continued on to Rapides Ave where the pursuit terminated.

The driver, later identified as Byron T. Roberts, was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center and booked on;
1ct-Aggravated Flight from an Officer
1ct-Reckless Operation of Vehicle
1ct-Hit and Run
1ct-Driving Under Suspension
1ct-Possession of Marijuana

The crash involving the A.F.D. Truck and second vehicle was investigated by A.P.D.
