November is Adoption Awareness Month. The state Department of Children and Family Services wants more people to know about adoption as an opportunity to expand their families.
As part of this initiative, Louisiana’s first lady honors some remarkable families at the governor’s mansion. This is the 15th adoption celebration at the mansion, which spotlights 733 children adopted by more than 500 families.
There is a shortage of adoptive families, and first lady Supriya Jindal greeted the men and women who have opened their homes to the children. For more information, visit ChildWelfare.gov.
