Shaqueta McDade of Rayne pleaded guilty and will serve time for negligent homicide without eligibility for parole.

The children, ages eight, seven, five and two, died in the trailer home fire, where the heat was so intense that neighbors could not rescue them.

It happened two years ago while McDade was out partying in a Church Point nightclub. Her oldest child was away for the night.
