Dates set for Children’s Theatre Camp at NSU

[ May 14, 2014 to July 9, 2014. ] NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will host it’s annual Summer theatre Camp July 30-Aug. 6 for youth ages 8-14.  Classes will be from noon-5 p.m. daily, except for Sunday.

Deadline Extended for 2014 Natchitoches Christmas Festival Poster Contest

[ May 23, 2014 to July 18, 2014. ] NATCHITOCHES – The deadline for the 2014 Natchitoches Christmas Festival Poster Contest has been extended to July 18, 2014.
The theme for the poster is “Christmas in Natchitoches”. Artists who would like to enter the contest should submit a drawing or painting to the Natchitoches Arts Council using the chosen theme.

Adopt-A-Block Program to Hold Second Annual Backpack Giveaway August 2

[ June 2, 2014 to August 2, 2014. ] NATCHITOCHES – Faith Family Church’s Adopt-A-Block Program will hold its Second Annual Backpack Giveaway on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the MLK Recreation and Community Center in Natchitoches for students in need. Backpacks will include school supplies such as crayons, rulers, scissors, notebooks, loose leaf paper, pencils, pens, binders, tissue, pencil pouches and folders.

Boyce Branch Library to Host “Movie Time!”

City of Alexandria to Host Summer Day Camp

[ June 25, 2014 to August 8, 2014. ] The City of Alexandria, Division of Community Services, will provide a summer camp from June 25 through August 8 for children ages 4-12. The camp will run from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, in the former Boys and Girls Club building at 1801 Sylvester Street across from Bringhurst Park.
