6th Annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday October 26th. 2013, from 10AM to 2PM, at the Public Safety Complex, located at 1000 Bolton Ave., in Alexandria.

The Drug Enforcement Administration will again coordinate a collaborative effort with state and local law enforcements agencies focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substance from our nation’s medicine cabinet.

When the results of the prior Take-Back Days are combined, the DEA and its state, local and tribal law enforcement and community partners have removed more than 2 Million pounds (1,018 tons) of medication from circulation.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposal, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of these medications.
