Press Release – On August 22nd, 2017, deputies responded to the 200 block of Vandenberg Drive in reference to a Burglary. The complainant advised that the office and several vehicles had been burglarized with several keys taken and damage was done to the office door. Deputies gathered evidence from the scene and an initial report was taken.
Approximately two hours later, a complaint came in from Robinson Road off of LA 28 West where the complainant stated that a male subject shook his back door and also stole a pair of shoes from his back porch. Deputies responded and searched the area with a K-9 and the department drone but the suspect was not located.
At this time, deputies thought these two incidents might be connected due to their proximity and shortly after, a suspect was identified as Marlon John Naquin, Jr. Detectives also responded to the area and Naquin, Jr. was located in the 800 block of Downs Lane. Through evidence gathered at the scene and witness statements, Naquin Jr. was arrested for criminal damage <$500, two counts simple burglary and theft <$750. The discarded keys that were stolen from the burglary on Vandenberg were located and gathered as evidence.
Naquin, Jr. was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center where he remains on an $11,250.00 bond.
