For almost a dozen years, chefs and cooks and restaurateurs in Central Louisiana have showed off their skills for charity. This is the Annual La Cuisine fundraiser at the Paragon Casino in Marksville.
Patrons pay to sample the best of Louisiana foods. They include seafood, meat, Italian creations and specialty pastries, as well as adult beverages. Dozens of restaurants from throughout the state responded to the call.
The result is a lot of money for three charities, two of them in our area.
The money is distributed among the Central Louisiana Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Avoyelles Society for the Developmentally Disabled in Marksville, and Faith House in Lafayette.
Thousands of dollars are raised for these non-profits.
