Attempted Murder Arrest in Alexandria

Alexandria police arrest a man for pepper spraying a convenience store with an assault weapon.

He’s 28-year-old Charles E. Jackson of Alexandria; he is charged with attempted murder, possession of a gun by a convicted felon and illegal use of a weapon.

Police say it happened Sunday afternoon at Super Zak’s in the 2900 block of Masonic.

Alexandria P.D. officers responded to a report of shots fired at 2929 Masonic Drive (Super Zak’s). When officers arrived, their investigation found that a male subject had come to the store, made a purchase and left. He them came back to the store, got into a verbal argument with the clerk then left again.  The subject then came back a third time with an assault weapon and fired several rounds into the store. APD Detectives and Crime Scene were called out to assist.

Further investigation by APD officers resulted in finding the suspect, Charles E. Jackson in the 2300 Block of Overton Street later this same night at approximately 10:00 P.M. Jackson was arrested and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Nobody was hit by the gunfire. Jackson’s bond is set at three (3) million dollars. He has 24 bookings.
