Alexandria PD Investigating Afternoon Shooting

Alexandria police are investigating a homicide on Chester Street in Alexandria after a man dies from a gunshot wound.  The name of the victim is being withheld, until his next of kin is notified.

The OK Allen Bridge over the Red River is shut down during noontime traffic today for about 30 minutes.  Police on both sides of the river had to detour the normally heavy traffic.

Mobile Home Destroyed by Fire This Morning

A mobile home is destroyed by fire this morning, but fortunately no one was hurt.
The fire happened around 9 on Brown’s Bend Road, and the parish fire department responded.
Authorities say no one was living in the home so investigators are treating it as arson.

Ball Man Arrested on 30 Counts of Carnal Knowledge

Devon Lockart from Ball is arrested on 30 counts of carnal knowledge of a minor.
The complaint was filed last month, and detectives secured a warrant for his arrest following an investigation.
