Historic City Hall Hosts “Abraham Lincoln: The Image”


[ August 2, 2013 to October 12, 2013. ] The City of Lake Charles will host “Abraham Lincoln: The Image” at Historic City Hall Arts and Cultural Center. The opening reception will take place on Friday, August 2 from 5:30-8 p.m.; all ages are welcome at no charge. The exhibition will hang through October 12, 2013.

NSU to Offer Driver’s Ed Class

[ July 29, 2013 to August 2, 2013. ] NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic and Continuing Education will offer a summer driver education class July 29 – Aug. 2. The class will be held at South Hall. The fee for the class is $350.

Those taking the class must be 15 years old by the first day of class.

Louisiana’s Rice Crop in Decent Shape

Louisiana’s rice crop is midway through its growing season, and despite delays, the crop is in decent shape.  LSU AgCenter correspondent Tobie Blanchard has an update on the crop and a look at the future.
