LSU AgCenter Field Day Features Sugarcane

Sugarcane farmers gather at the LSU AgCenter Sugar Research Station to learn about how to help their crop.  AgCenter Correspondent Tobie Blanchard is at the Sugarcane Field Day and has this report.

Louisiana has around 410 thousand acres of sugarcane.  Last year the state had 425 thousand.

LA State Police Launch “See Something – Send Something”

Louisiana State Police has a new service with a new slogan: “See Something – Send Something.”  Both are expected to connect people and their smart phones to criminal intelligence centers nationwide.

Troopers say this could especially be helpful in rural areas.

Elmer Woman Accused of Sex Crimes

A 31-year-old Elmer woman is accused of various sex crimes.  Rapides Deputies say Dorothy Jean Vanasselberg is charged with child pornography, indecent behavior and sexual battery.
Deputies say they acted on a complaint involving a child and say detectives saw a video of the woman.  She’s still in jail under a 200 thousand-dollar bond.

Printmaking class to begin Thursday

Attorney General Recovers $45 Million for Louisiana in Litigation with GSK
