December 6: 2nd Night of Christmas: Holiday Light Safari, Alexandria Zoo, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30p.m. Sponsored by City of Alexandria and FOTAZ. Hundreds of thousands of lights adorn the zoo. Musical entertainment, Santa, train rides and more. Additional dates: Dec. 7, 13-14, 20-23 and 27-30. Cost: $6. Call: 441-6810.

December 7: 3rd Night of Christmas: An Old Fashioned Christmas, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m, Kent Plantation House, 3601 Bayou Rapides Road. Sponsored by Kent Plantation House. Story telling, vintage music and dance, make your own old-fashioned Christmas ornament, Papa Noel and refreshments. Cost: Admission free. Call: 487-5998.

December 8: 4th Night of Christmas: Christmas de la Louisiane, 2 p.m. Jackson St. Extension. Sponsored by Alexandria Mardi Gras Association. Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is this year’s Grand Marshall of the Alexandria Christmas Parade. Cost: Admission free. Call: 442-7668.

December 10: 5th Night of Christmas: String Concert, 7 p.m., Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center, 1202 Third St. Sponsored by Alexandria Youth Orchestra. After recently returning from playing Carnegie Hall and West Point, the AYO will amaze the crowd at this concert. Cost: $5. Call: 229-7631.

December 12: 6th Night of Christmas: Pilgrimage to Bethlehem, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Emmanuel Baptist Church, 430 Jackson St. Sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church. A guided tour of a dramatic recreation of 1st Century Bethlehem complete with pre-tour music and drama. December 14: 8th Night of Christmas: A Calvary Christmas, 6 p.m., Calvary Baptist Church, 5011 Jackson St. Sponsored by Calvary Baptist Church. A weaving of carols, timeless classics and new inspiring worship songs that lead us to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Cost: $5. Call: 445-1426.
